moving people; moving castles

So what have I been doing with myself lately?

Er... Not much. Working mostly.

It would seem that I mixed up weekends in the last few of my blogs. Obviously the boy and I did not go to a tractor show on Easter Sunday. That was the day that we went for a really long drive through Intercourse Pa. :::: snickers:::: This past weekend was the tractor show. Saturday I worked, but the boy and his dad didn't go anyway because it got rained out. Saturday night, the boy and I went to one of his friend's moving out party. The boy got pretty drunk (a rare occurrence) but he stopped before he knew I would have a hard time getting him down the stairs and into the Jeep. The next morning, with the boy suffering no ill effects, we both woke up and went for a drive with his dad to the tractor show. Unfortunately the dark clouds and fear of rain kept most people away so there wasn't much to show for. The boy was sad. He didn't get to show me how to drive a tractor. Oh well, maybe next time. Sunday afternoon the sun came out and the soft top finally went on the jeep. Just in time for more rain and colder temperatures.

This Sunday the boy and I will spend helping his friend move into his new home. Other than that we have no plans.

Currently reading: Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones. As far as I know this is the first book that Miyazaki has based one of his movies on. The characters are there, but like most movies the subplots are really different. It is still enjoyable though.

An addition to Sunday's posting.

I just found out that after passing through Virginville and before Intercourse we passed through Blueball PA. :::: insert your joke here.:::::

Pardon my humor

Pardon my jokes here folks but you'll understand why I couldn't resist.

Easter Sunday. The boy and I decided to go for a long ride on the Harley. Where shall we go we thought? And then, just because, we decided to go to Intercourse PA. Yes you read that right, there is a small little city in PA named Intercourse, its in the middle of Amish Country. Go figure.

Well, we needed directions, because as you know, no one gets to Intercourse without instruction. Looking at the instructions we noticed that in order to get to Intercourse we had to go through Virginvile. Well that seems logical.

It was a nice journey to Intercourse, along the way we saw quite a few Amish folk. We wondered if their buggies had to be licensed and since I didn't see any plates on the horse's asses I figured they didn't.

Finally after a long bumpy ride we got to Intercourse. And after so much riding I was disappointed by how small it was. It was one road surrounded by farmland. All of the small shops were closed. So, what did we do in the middle of Intercourse you might be asking? Not much. And actually by the time we got to Intercourse I had to go to the bathroom so badly that I didn't really enjoy it. Since there was nothing open I had to hold it and wait until we were done in Intercourse. So we decided to head home.

After Intercourse we got hungry. We stopped at a dinner where the waitresses were not happy to wait on us. Once we got home we were so tired from going through Intercourse we both fell right to sleep.

It was a fun ride on the Harley, but not a really interesting destination, as it turns out. It would seem that all I got from Intercourse PA were some really bad jokes.

So my life has been a whirlwind of activity lately. I don't have much time for myself right now and I'm still trying to get my sleep pattern right.

I really really like my job. I like what I'm doing and I like the people I work with. But right now it's a little lonely. Not that there aren't people around, but there isn't really anyone I can talk to. And by talking I mean friend talking, you know, the kind of conversations you have with people that have known you for a long time. The kind where you don't have to give the complete background of the story you are telling because the person your talking to has known you for so long they already know where your coming from. I guess what I'm saying is that I miss my friends.

Ah well.

I don't have much planned for the weekend. I still have to work on Saturday but I'm counting down those days. Four to go and then I have the weekend off like normal people. The boy said something about maybe going to a tractor show on Sunday. Yippie! :::: said with heavy sarcasm:::::: My redneck. Hopefully he goes with his Dad on Saturday. It's not so much that I would mind going, but they get up at the crack of dawn to go and after this week I just really want to spend the day relaxing. Which in my mind means sleeping.

Saw Ice Age Two last night. Quite good and funny. With my computer animation background, I always notice how good or bad the animation looks, and to me, the fur in this movie was amazing. There were times when Manny got wet and it looked really good.

Ah well, no more thoughts for now.

hard rains ganna fall

The breeze is blowing with the sweet smell of rain. The sky is getting dark and cloudy and I can tell it will soon open up and refresh the dry earth.

Damnit.

So much for putting the convertable top on my Jeep.

Humbug

Still alive?

I'm still here. Really I am. I've just be so busy.

I started my new job last Monday and everything has been a whirlwind of activity lately. Actually last Monday I went to orientation and then spent the next three days learning the computer systems. My first real day at the Hospital was on Friday, where I realized there was a lot to learn. I've been at my other two jobs for so long that I forgot what it was like to go to work and not know what I'm doing. I'm getting better at it though. Second day at the job and I'm already getting a little bit of a grip on what I'm doing.

I've been really tired too. Right now I'm still working all three jobs. Just until May though, then I'm cutting back to two. For right now I'm working 56 hours a week over 6 days. Then in may I'll cut it down to 48, and have both Saturday and Sunday off. That will be a switch. It's been over 7 years since I've had the entire weekend off.

Ok, I must go. My bed is calling me.
