Vacation Days 7 (part 2) and 8

So yesterday I said I was going shopping, and boy did I. We went to downtown Disney where I found tons of stuff I wanted and bought a few Christmas presents for family. Then we went to one of the Harley Davidson shops that are down here. I got a lot of stuff for myself there. I now own jeans that say Harley Davidson on the butt. And I didn't even find the shoes that I wanted. Oh well, I guess I'll look when we go to the big Harley store in Orlando.

Today the boy and I rested for a while and then went for a drive to Daytona Beach where I got to walk in the sand and pick up some seashells. Unfortunately we rested a little too long and got there right before the tide was coming in. So tomorrow we should be heading either for Key West(todays original plan that got changed) or Clearwater.

Vacation Days 5, 6 and 7

On Thursday the boy and I started our day in Epcot. It was interesting and there were a few good rides, but most of it was different countries with all kinds of little shops. It was not something he and I were interested in. So we did what we wanted there and hopped over to Animal Kingdom. That was much cooler. It was a little like Busch Gardens. A kind of theme park zoo. Unfortunilty we didn't realize that Animal Kingdom closed earlier than the other parks, so when everything started shutting down we hopped over to Magic Kingdom. We rode Space Mountain and saw the Tiki Room. We finished both of those with enough time to see the lights parade (very cool) and the fireworks display (also very cool). When we got home we were exhausted.

Yesterday, the boy, myself, his parents, and his aunt and uncle all piled into the truck to go to Disney's MGM. We had a great time there. We did the Tower of Terror, the Star Wars adventure and Muppets 3D. Plus a whole lot more than I can remember. Then when MGM started to get busy we hopped over to Magic Kingdom where we did Space Mountain AGAIN,the Tiki Room AGAIN and the Thunder Mountain ride. We left Magic Kingdom and hopped back to MGM just in time to see Fantasmic. I can not describe how cool that was. A live show with acting, movie clips and fireworks. After that we came home.

Today the boys are going to the Good Guys car show and the girls are going shopping. YIPPIE!!!

Vacation Day #5

Today was Magic Kingdom day.

We did so much, I can't believe how much we got done. We went early and rode all the rides we wanted to before noon. The longest we had to wait was only 20 minutes. We went on:

Space Mountain
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Haunted Mansion
Jungle Cruise
The Enchanted Tiki Room
Swiss Family Treehouse
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

We didn't go on all the rides but we went on enough and like I said we barely waited for anything. We also had really expensive burgers and fries. And I got my picture taken with Mickey. We shopped a lot, but I tried not to spend too much money but there was a sweatshirt I couldn't resist. Oh, and we watched a parade too. I got a lot of cool pictures from that one. Even though I know there are three other parks to go too, and I want to do them, I wouldn't mind spending another day in the Magic Kingdom. It was a lot of fun. The boy and I had a great time today. Tomorrow we head for Epcot. Boy are my feet going to be tired by the end of this vacation.

Vacation Day #4

Once again the boy and I were up and ready to go by 8:30 but were not able to leave the house for some time because of everybody else. Thank goodness it's just he and I going to Disney or we wouldn't get there until they close.

Yesterday we went to the Kennedy Space Center and were unable to see everything because we got there a little late. (see above) But the tickets we bought yesterday were good for two consecutive days so we decided to go back today. One of the things the boys dad wanted to see was Choppers Inc. Choppers Inc. is where Billy Lane builds his motorcycles. His shop is located in Miami so we went there first. It was a long ride on the motorcycles but it was a good ride too. It was a little bit more cold than it had been the other day but with my sweater I was fine. The boys aunt and uncle, who reside in Florida were bundled up like they were ready for a blizzard. The shop was cool, we actually got to see Billy working away listening to his Ipod. I wonder what was on his Ipod? I didn't buy anything though, if i'm going to pay $30 for a t-shirt it's going to say Harley Davidson.

After that we went to lunch at a place called Coconuts. I had a lobster crab and shrimp wrap, it was ok, but I make better lobster and shrimp salad at work.

At long last we arrived back at the Kennedy Space Center and entered the astronauts Hall of Fame. It was interesting, but I expected to see a bigger display for the Challenger Spaceshuttle. In one part of the building there was a place with different experiments. One of the things was a ride that put you through G forces. The ride was a flight simulator and it went up to 4 Gs. And I foolishly went on it. There was a time when something like this would not have bothered me, but I have apparently grown older and near the end of the ride I was having a hard time breathing and got quite nauseated. Because of my sinuses my balance is usually off and when I stepped out of the ride I couldn't walk strait. But I'm happy to report I did not throw up. Yeah me!

The ride home was a might bit chilly, but we are now home safe and warm.

Tomorrow the boy and I plan on going to Disney, so we'll see what happens.

Vacation Day #3

Today, with the threat of thunderstorms we decided to put off Disney and go to the Kennedy Space Center. Even though the boy and I were up early - yes you read that right I was out of bed before 8 - we did not leave the house until 11. It would seem the other people in the house think that because they are on vacation they should get to sleep in. Oy what wierd people. Also because of the threat of the coming storm we decided not to take the bikes and instead all pilled into one of the many trucks down here. In any case it was an interesting experience. Space is not really my topic of choice but it was interesting seeing the launch pad and seeing the loader they use to transport the shuttle to the launch pad. We also saw a pretty cool 3D Imax movie, lots of things jumping off of the screen. Other than that it seemed like a bunch of stuff that looked a lot like the stuff at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I hear the sounds of a table being set and I smell something that resembles food. So I will hit the road for another day.

Vacation Day #2

After a very long car ride (19 hours) we arrived in sunny Florida. It was 25 degrees in PA and was 80 degrees when we arrived. We went to a wedding last night, no one we knew, just someone that the boy's aunt and uncle were DJing for. This morning we got up and set out for a very long Harley ride. I don't know what time we left I didn't even look. I'm on vacation, why should I care what time it was/is? I am already sunburned. I brought sunscreen but forgot to put it on. Luckily one of the riders that was with us has spf 30 that I could use. Her daughter is allergic to aloe too, so she didn't think it unusual that I was. I saw a lot of places I wanted to stop like Daytona Beach and the Kennedy Space Center but we were riding with a large group of people and couldn't just stop whenever or wherever we wanted. At the end of the ride it started to rain but it wasn't too bad. There is and 80 percent chance of rain tomorrow so I don't know what we'll do. But I'm sure we'll find something.

Knock and the door will open.

Oh my goodness... two blogs in one day... NO!

But yes, it's true. I had to share these guys with you. A little birdy named Mouse(??) told me that Hot Topic had the Door Knockers... yes THE door knockers from Labyrinth. And I just had to have them.

I also obtained a Labyrinth T-shrit as well

Oh my, I'm in nerd heaven right now.

Wagons! Southwest!

Song: Breathe (2am) - Anna Nalick

So what is going on in my life? Well, a little bit of everything.

Last weekend the boy and I went four wheeling. There were quite a few of us this time and no injuries to speak of. However, one of the guys that went with us brought his girlfriend. Normally I wouldn't care, it's nice having another girl along. Except this girl apparently did not know what she was getting into and spent most of the day complaining (loudly and often) about all of the dirt and mud. - "Oh my god, it's going to take a week to get all of this dirt out of my pores." ::::much eye rolling here:::::

The rest of the week was rather un noteworthy except for a friends birthday dinner at the Texas Road House. I've never been there, it's quite a journey for just food, but it was quite good.

This past weekend the boy and I spent at the cabin with his parents. Unfortunately I spent most of those days trying to remember how to breathe. My asthma kicked in and left me feeling like a had a person sitting on my lungs. I had felt myself starting to get sick on Thursday and started popping echinatia and vitamin C. Well it seems like the cold almost past me by, but then decided to settle in my lungs. At this point I feel like I'm getting over a cold that I never had.

I need to get over this cold NOW. Friday night the boy and I are leaving for a two week vacation in Florida. We will be staying with his Aunt and Uncle who live down there. We are going to go to Disney and hopefully do a swamp boat tour.

To much to do to be sitting here for too long.
Bye now!

Sometimes

Sometimes I worry.
Sometimes I get upset.
Sometimes I worry and get upset about things that I know I don't need to.
Most of the time I think too much.
Sometimes I'm really selfish.
Sometimes I think about walking away from everyone and everything I know.
Most of the time I get scared about losing the ones I love.
Sometimes I look with green eyes and see things that aren't there.
Sometimes I'm as pig headed as they come.
Some days I just want to hide under the covers.
Some days I wonder why life is so difficult.
Sometimes I wonder why love make things so damn complicated?
Most of the time I know I'm where my heart will always be.

Welcome

Song: Beverly Hills - Weezer
Quote: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. - A quote from Star Wars a New Hope, restated by a pirate at the PA Renascence Festival

What a busy weekend. It started with a Halloween parade on Thursday, trick or treating on Friday, the Eastern State Penitentiary on Saturday (yes we made it) and the Pennsylvania Renascence Festival on Sunday.

I, the boy and his parents all went to the Halloween parade, and even though the parade was really long, (over three hours) we had fun. I spent Trick or Treat night giving out candy to the wee ones, and not so wee ones, with me mum on the porch.

Saturday night the boy and two friends rushed to Philadelphia in order to go through the Eastern State Penitentiary. What a let down. It's a real prison set up to be a Haunted Prison. The real prison looked so much more interesting than what we saw. We all decided we wanted to go back for the historical tour sometime.

Early Sunday morning we all got up early to go to the (said in an old English accent) Pennsylvania Renascence Festival. All but one of us (the boy) got dressed up for the event, so he took the picture of us. That's me there on the right.

We all had a really great time. It was the last day of the festival for the season, and it seemed like the actors enjoyed themselves as much as the audience. Although I think that by next year I'm going to try to put together a pirate costume. I think that would be a wee bit more comfortable than the corset I was wearing.
